We encourage all swimmers to attend as many practices as possible. Swimmers who attend fewer than three practices per week will find that they have difficulty improving their strokes, speed, and endurance. Swimmers should arrive 10 minutes before practice for stretching and warm-up exercises.
Please routinely check the practice schedule on this website, and note that there are exceptions for holidays. Our season is divided into two practice sessions:
- Pre-Season: April 24 through June 2. Practices are in the afternoon.
- Summer Season: June 5 through July 15. Practices will be held Monday through Thursday mornings. We will hold afternoon practices on Monday and Wednesdays for swimmers who are unable to attend morning practice. Please fill this survey if your swimmers need to attend these afternoon make up practices. New this year we will hold Fun Friday practice for the whole team in the afternoon from 4-7pm. Many of these Friday practices will incorporate a team dinner (some provided, some with a charge and some potluck style).

New swimmers need to attend a tryout one day:
April 10th - 13th (4:00pm-4:30pm)
Swimmers are placed into groups based on ability and age. Returning Dolphins should attend the group they attended the previous year. Coaches may adjust a swimmer’s practice group up or down one practice group/age group level based upon the swimmer’s abilities and the number of swimmers in each practice group. Swimmer must attend their appropriate practice group. Attendance at a differing practice time requires prior approval from a coach. In addition to our regular swim groups we are bringing back the Minnows this season. If you child tries out for the team and is unable to complete a full lap without stopping at the coaches' discretion they can be placed in the Minnows group. The purpose of this group is to get the swimmer ready to move up to participate with the Squirts by the first dual meet.
